Grammy-winning songwriter Cynthia Weil has died, her daughter Jenn Mann confirmed Friday. She was 82.
On Friday, theAssociated PressandTMZ reportedthat the Songwriters Hall of Fame member, who earned success throughout her career both on her own and alongside husband and writing partner Barry Mann, died on Thursday.
“My mother, Cynthia Weil, was the greatest mother, grandmother and wife our family could ever ask for,” said Jenn, per TMZ.

Cyntoia Brown, the Tennessee woman imprisoned for killing a man who solicited her for sex when she was a 16-year-old trafficking victim, has been released from prison, theTennessee Department of Corrections announced.
Brown, 31, was released from the Tennessee Prison for Women 15 years after she fatally shot 43-year-old real estate agent Johnny Allen at his home.
Several celebrities, includingKim Kardashian West and Rihanna, have used their social media platforms to shine a spotlight on Brown’s case.

Cyntoia Brown-Long, the Tennessee woman imprisoned for killing a man who solicited her for sex when she was a 16-year-old trafficking victim, is speaking out.
In her first television interview since her Augustrelease from prison, Brown-Long spoke with “NBC Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt.During the interview, she told Holt that her story isn’t unique.
“There’s nothing special about me,” she said. “I can’t tell you how many Cyntoia Browns still in prison.
