A search is underway for a passenger who fell overboard from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship this week.
The ship’s crew searched for approximately two hours on Tuesday night and deployed six life rings, but the passenger was not located, per the release.
A day later, Coast Guard crews began their search, with an aircrew searching the area — which is roughly 500 miles south of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii — for six hours, to no avail.

The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a missing man who went overboard from a Carnival cruise ship off the coast of Florida over the weekend.
According to a statement from Carnival Cruise Line, the 30-year-old passenger went missing on Sunday while traveling on the Carnival Elation as it made its way back to its homeport of Jacksonville following a four-day trip to the Bahamas.

Several passengers on aNorwegian cruisewere injured after the ship ran into bad weather and tilted sideways.
The Norwegian Escape, which departed fromNew York Cityon Sunday March 3 for a 7-night cruise bound for Florida and the Bahamas, reportedly encountered a gust of wind of 100 knots (115 mph) as it was sailing to its first stop in Port Canaveral. The wind “resulted in the ship heeling to the port side,” a spokesperson for Norwegian Cruise Lines tells PEOPLE.

A cruise ship was turned away from docking in the Dominican Republic Friday over concerns that passengers aboard were infected withcoronavirus, officials said.
According to a statement from the Public Health Ministry of the Dominican Republic, per The New York Times, the Braemar vessel was carrying eight passengers who showed symptoms including fever, coughing and difficulty breathing — all possible signs of COVID-19.
