CPSC Warns Parents to Stop Using the Peloton Tread+ After Child Dies in Related Accident

Photo: Peloton The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission hasissued an “urgent warning"to consumers about the Peloton Tread+ “after multiple incidents of small children and a pet being injured beneath the machines.” In the Saturday release — which came one month after achild was killed in an accidentinvolving the treadmill — the CPSC says they were “aware of 39 incidents including one death” related to the Peloton Tread+. “CPSC staff believes the Peloton Tread+ poses serious risks to children for abrasions, fractures and death,” the agency shares.

Crab Boat Capsizes in Oregon, Killing 3 People

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, which tweeted an image of the rescue effort, the Mary B. II fishing vessel was crossing Yaquina Bay Bar in Newport when it capsized amid waves that reached up to 14 ft. Initial reportsstated the vessel was featured on Discovery Channel’sDeadliest Catch: Dungeon Cove, which chronicles the dangers of catching crabs in the area, but PEOPLE has confirmed it was not.

Cracker Barrel Ordered to Pay Man $9.3M After He Was Served Liquid Cleaner Instead of Water

The plaintiff, William Cronnon, was dining at a Marion County Cracker Barrel in April 2014 when he was allegedly served a mixture of the cleaning product Eco-San and water. After taking a few sips of what he thought was water, he “immediately” realized “that it was not ice water but was some chemical that caused a burning sensation in his mouth and esophagus,” according to CNN.
