The bride and groom’s wedding hit a snag when a massive power outage left parts of New York City in darkness. Manhattan’s Midtown and Upper West Side were dark for several hours Saturday night, with the power outage affecting about 72,000 people,Con Edison announced.

Sky Howard and Clay Cameron plan to tie the knot on New Year’s Eve 2020. But the couple had no problem putting on an extra special mock ceremony months earlier for Cameron’s 100-year-old grandmother, Charlotte Bussard.
Bussard, born in November 1918, was able to see Cameron marry on May 29 in an unofficial ceremony in her room at Hemphill County Hospital in Canadian, Texas, thecouple toldGood Morning America.

Taco Bell knows how to throw a wedding that’s out of this world, literally.
On Feb. 24, the famed fast food restaurant hosted a unique (and legally binding) wedding ceremony in the metaverse for Sheel Mohnot and Amruta Godbole, a San Francisco-based couple.
The private nuptials took place in Decentraland, a 3D browser-based platform allowing shared virtual exploration.
“I think, in my vows, I said that I promised that our life would always be fun and romantic and more than a little weird, just like today,” Godbole tells PEOPLE exclusively.

An Oklahoma couple who planned to exchange vows in Las Vegas instead got married on the plane after their flight was canceled, they tell PEOPLE.
Last week, Jeremy Salda and Pam Patterson quickly put together plans for a Las Vegas wedding set for Sunday, April 24.
The duo made sure to check off all the boxes: they reserved an appointment for a marriage license, booked a hotel near the Strip and bought tickets for a flight from Oklahoma City to Nevada.
