It’s been 30 years sinceDie Hardswept into theaters and starBonnie Bedelia, has been reminiscing about her favorite memories during filming.
“When I think back toDie Hard, I think first of Alan Rickman,” Bedelia, 70, tellsPEOPLEof the late actor, who played infamous villain Hans Gruber. “I mostly hung out with Alan on the set and we lunched together every day in the Fox commissary.”
Bedelia admits that their friendship blossomed because Rickman was “not only a wonderful actor who I so admired and who was so brilliant as Hans Gruber, but also a lovely, gentle, and invariably interesting companion,” and also because Willis was otherwise occupied.

Bruce Willismay be a Hollywood icon, but he had a lot to prove on the set of his first major blockbuster,Die Hard.
The classic action film, which celebrated its 30th anniversary on July 20, launched Willis into superstardom.
“Whenever he was on set he was very into the character so I didn’t really bother him,” hisDie Hardcostar Reginald VelJohnson told PEOPLE at an anniversary screening held at the famous Fox Plaza in Century City, California, which starred as Nakatomi Tower in the film.

The poll found that 53% of Black Americans agreed with the statement, “It’s okay to be White,” while 26% disagreed and 21% specified they weren’t sure.
