Costcois known for having one of the most lenient return policies of any major chain store, but it seems they can (and do) cut off those who abuse it.
According toBusiness Insider, at least one customer claims she had her membership revoked when trying to make a return.
The super store’swebsitehas a blanket return policy on merchandise stating that they “guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell, and will refund your purchase price.

Costcois tightening theirmembership programat stores across the country.
The bulk-retailer is implementing a new photo-verification system at its self-checkout kiosks after noticing an increase in membership card sharing with non-members.
“Costco is able to keep our prices as low as possible because our membership fees help offset our operational expenses, making our membership fee and structure important to us,” the company said in a statement to PEOPLE.

Costco is the subject of an animal neglect lawsuit over their contracted poultry farms, which are used for the big box stores' popular $4.99 rotisseries chickens.
In the legal complaint, whichwas filed this monthin Seattle, Costco shareholders Krystil Smith and Tyler Lobdell allege that an unnamed barn, one of hundreds contracted in Nebraska and Iowa, is responsible for breaking animal welfare laws in the states.
“Most of the individuals whom Costco contracted to raise chickens had never raised chickens before they started working with Costco,” the lawsuit reads.
