Patrick Doyle is bringing magic to the music ofKing CharlesandQueen Camilla’s coronation.
The Oscar-nominated film composer behind scores forHarry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,Cinderella, Thorand more was invited to write the coronation march for thecrowning ceremonyatWestminster Abbeyon Saturday. Speaking to PEOPLE about the honor and what the composition sounds like, Doyle jokes that the prestigious commission from Buckingham Palace was “the last thing in the world I ever expected” — though it’s not his first royal assignment.

King Charles' coronation march composer likens the exquisite event to a cinematic experience.
Patrick Doylehad the honor of composing the “King Charles III Coronation March” for thecrowning ceremonyatWestminster Abbeyon Saturday and was among the 2,200guestsinvited inside. The Oscar-nominated composer, 70, exclusively tells PEOPLE about what the crowning ceremony was like, and how it was “heavenly” to hear his piece played in the historic venue.
Doyle had a front-row view ofthe processionsfrom his seat in the quire with the other composers, recalling that a real camaraderie radiated through the group includingAndrew Lloyd Webberas their original compositions were played.

With the coronation ofKing CharlesandQueen Camillajust three days away, final preparations are underway for the elaborate celebrations — and that included a grand overnight rehearsal that gave a preview into the elaborate pageantry of the event.
The nighttime rehearsal illuminated the streets of London as members of the U.K.’s armed forces rehearsed the processions that will take King Charles and Queen Camilla between Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey for thecoronationon May 6.

The royal kitchens are revving up for the coronation ofKing CharlesandQueen Camilla!
On Monday, Buckingham Palace shared the first official recipe for theCoronation Big Lunchcelebrations happening throughout thecrowning ceremonyweekend from May 6 to 8:coronation quiche. The dish features spinach, broad beans and tarragon, and a tutorial video of a palace chef preparing the dish was shared along with instructions.
The directions call for homemade or store-bought pastry dough tucked into a tin, filled with beans, cheddar cheese, spinach and tarragon.
