A Connecticut woman and her 7-year-old daughter died earlier this week in what police have ruled a murder-suicide.
Around 4 p.m. on Thursday, Westport Police found Tracy Do, 46, dead inside her Westport home after receiving a report of an unresponsive female, the department said in apress release. After finding Do, police searched the home and discovered her 7-year-old daughter also dead.
“The Westport Police Detective Bureau along with the State Police Western District Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate the facts and circumstances related to these two deaths,” police said in the Friday release, noting that they will not be releasing any further information on the case at this time.

A Connecticut woman was hospitalized after she accidentally mistook a stick of dynamite for a candle.
According to Police SpokesmanAv Harris, the woman was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital immediately after the incident. She was later transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital.
“She suffered extreme injuries to one of her hands,” Harris said. “She also suffered serious injuries to her face.”
The unidentified woman, her husband and their two children were at home on Thursday when they lost power after severe storms swept through the area.

Patricia Shaw, a 77-year-old Connecticut woman, died last week from Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), a rare mosquito-linked illness.
Speaking toWFSBat a vigil for Shaw on Saturday, Rev. Brian Maxwell of Saint Matthias of East Lyme, CT., said she was the type who wouldn’t have hurt a fly.
“I was with her family yesterday and they were telling me that she was so kind towards animals and if she was walking down the road and saw something that was wounded, she’d pick it up,” Maxwell told WFSB.
