Army paratrooper Spc. Abigail Jenks died on Monday after doing a static-line jump training.
At the time of the incident, the 20-year-old native of Gansevoort, New York was parachuting from a UH-60 Blackhawk in Fort Bragg, North Carolina when she suffered fatal injuries, the 82nd Airborne Divisionrevealedon Wednesday.
The native of Gansevoort, New York was a fire support specialist assigned to the 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

A Nebraska community has been left heartbroken after a beloved professor and his 7-year-old son were killed in a car crash on their way to a college football game.
Mark Kaipust, 41, and his son Taylor were identified as the two victims in Saturday’s fatal collision on Interstate 80 near Lincoln, according toa press release from the Nebraska State Patrol.
“I keep thinking about that. It’s just a father trying to go to a Husker game with his son yesterday,” Powers told the outlet.

A father of four drowned on what was his first trip to Lake Tahoe with his family.
Bill Siu was knocked off a jet ski as the family visited the lake from Concord, California, last weekend,SFGATEreported.
“We kind of got separated, and all I knew was I had to get to him,” Alexie told SFGATE.

A Massachusetts community is rallying around a teen ice hockey player after he was seriously injured during a recent game.
During the game, Jake, of Fitchburg, was involved in a collision on the ice, in which he fractured his T7 and T8 vertebrae and ultimately has been paralyzed from the waist down. He also suffered a small brain bleed, the fundraiser stated.
“It’s everyone’s worst nightmare,” Jake’s family friend, Kevin Lizotte, told Boston news channel,WHDH.
