A 10th-grade student from Connecticut has died after suffering an injury to his neck during a junior varsity ice hockey game last week.
“There are no words adequate to this moment, and I know all of us will support each other as best as we can,” St. Luke’s Head of School Mark Davis told the community in an email following the accident, according toGreenwich Time.
The New Canaan-based schoolcanceled classes on Fridayand announced adelayed start for the school dayon Monday.

A Northford, Connecticut man accused of killing his daughter’s two-year-old bulldog was arrested on Wednesday.
Arnaldo Silva was arrested after the North Branford Police Department responded to a report of a possible domestic dispute on Monday night.
According to amedia releasefrom the department, a dispatcher from the North Branford Communications Center told officers as they made their way to the scene that Silva, 51, had killed his daughter’s 2-year-old bulldog “with an unknown weapon.

Rough surf conditions have claimed the life of another swimmer in the waters off North Carolina’s Outer Banks, officials said.
On Wednesday, a 36-year-old Enfield, Connecticut, man was pronounced dead after apparently drowning off Nags Head Beach,according to CBS affiliate WNCTandABC affiliate WVEC.
