Commercial Flights Rerouted Away From Middle East Amid U.S. and Iran Tensions

Tensions between the United States and Iran have led commercial airlines to reroute flights throughout the Middle East. According to the Associated Press, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has prohibited American pilots and carriers from flying in both Iranian and Iraqi airspace, as well as in select areas of the Persian Gulf. The fear, the FAA said, is the “potential for miscalculation or mis-identification” of a civilian aircraft being confused for aircrafts engaging in armed conflict, the AP reported.

Committee Investigating Jan. 6 Attack on U.S. Capitol Subpoenas 4 in Donald Trump's Inner Circle

Former White House strategist Steve Bannon, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, former Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Dan Scavino and Kashyap Patel, the former chief of staff to Trump’s defense secretary, are all compelled as witnesses to appear before theSelect Committeeto give testimony on Oct. 14 or 15. “The Committee is investigating the facts, circumstances, and causes of the January 6th attack and issues relating to the peaceful transfer of power, to identify and evaluate lessons learned and to recommend corrective laws, policies, procedures rules, or regulations,” Committee Chair Bennie Thompsonsaid in a statement.
