TheRustinstar is set to portray the late Joe Jackson in the upcomingMichael JacksonbiopicMichael, Lionsgate and Universal Pictures International announced Thursday via a press release.
Scheduled for release April 18, 2025, the biographical film will star the King of Pop’s nephewJaafar Jacksonin the title role.

A former Colorado police officer was sentenced Thursday to five years in prison for violently detaining an elderly woman living with dementia during an arrest.
Austin Hopp, formerly of the Loveland Police Department, pleaded guilty to a single charge of second-degree assault in March.
She sustained injuries, including a fractured arm and dislocated shoulder,The Washington Postreported.
Surveillance footage from inside the Loveland police station showed Hopp and other officers joking about the arrest and mocking Garner, thePostreports.

A Denver man who was recently rescued from a fenced-off drainage culvert along with his 5-year-old son is now behind bars for his alleged role in the incident.
Michael Ninomiya, 42, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, attempted child abuse knowingly or recklessly causing death, and attempted child abuse knowingly or recklessly causing serious bodily injury.
Firefighters eventually found them in a fenced-off drainage culvert along the High Line Canal.

Arapahoe County court records indicate Reginald Maclaren has been charged with first-degree murder.
According to the Englewood Police Department, Maclaren, 81, is accused of murdering his wife and daughter with an ax, and then stuffing their bodies into individual trash cans in their Englewood, Colo., living room.
Police say one of the victims was also dismembered with a saw.
