Women are breaking the glass ceiling in more ways than one — and female football player Antionette “Toni” Harris hopes to smash the one hanging over the NFL.
“I’ve had this dream ever since I was younger,” Harris explains. “I do feel a lot more pumped now since I have the platform to show coaches that I have the talent and the potential to play at the next level, the collegiate level and the NFL level, so I’m ready.

“Definitely been a blessed journey since taking the greyhound bus as a kid all the way up to Michigan State, being able to prevail through losing my father in 2017, and seeing my mother pass away in my arms just this year in April from Cancer,” the athlete wrote on Instagram. “It has strengthened me as a person, man of God, and leader.”
In 2017, Butler learned his father Steven died of an apparent heart attack, just hours before Michigan State was set to face-off against Penn State.

A freshman at Seattle Pacific University was among the four people who were tragically killed in a crane accident on Google’s new campus on Saturday afternoon, according to astatement from the university.
Sarah Wong was intending on majoring in nursing and lived on campus, according to the school.
“While we grieve the sudden and tragic loss of our precious student, we draw comfort from each other, our strong community of faith, and God’s presence with us in times of sorrow,” SPU said in a statement.

Arizona State University freshman Aiden Nevarez unexpectedly died over the weekend during a spring break trip to Mexico, multiple outlets reported.
Nevarez, 18, died on Sunday night, just hours after arriving at a Cabo San Lucas hotel where he and his friends were staying, according to NBC affiliateKPNX.
Four of his friends, two of whom were on the trip, said the accident happened at the Hotel Riu Santa Fe. The outlet reported that Nevarez fell over a short wall in front of palm trees and a 20-foot drop.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Melissa Gonzalez was shot to death Saturday night outside Miami.
Gonzalez, an aspiring attorney, was a recent graduate of Florida International University in Miami, and was driving with her boyfriend when she was killed.
Gonzalez’s boyfriend, Julian Veliz, told investigators he heard gunshots at around 8:30 p.m., and looked over to see his girlfriend had been shot.
He said he jumped out of the moving car, and ran to the shoulder where he called for help.
