CNN has filed a lawsuit againstDonald Trumpand several of his top aides after the network’s chief White House correspondent, Jim Acosta, was banned from the White House following a heated exchange with the president.
Both CNN and Acosta are plaintiffs in the lawsuit, while the six defendants are: Trump, chief of staff John Kelly, press secretary Sarah Sanders, deputy chief of staff for communications Bill Shine, the director of the Secret Service, and the Secret Service officer (referred to as John Doe, pending his identification) who took Acosta’s press pass away.

CNN had sharp words forTed Cruzon Monday after the Texas senator claimed the network was acting as a “cheerleader” for the Taliban during the fall of Afghanistan’s government.
The network’s communications team swiped at Cruz, 50, after he tweeted about Chief International Correspondent Clarissa Ward’s reporting from Afghanistanin the wake of the Taliban takeoverand U.S. military withdrawal.
In the seven-minutesegment, Ward, who had covered her head, reported from the ground on the rapidly evolving situation in the country, interviewing both Taliban members and Afghan civilians caught up in the conflict.

Ward, CNN’s chief international correspondent, was following a pair of Ukrainian paramedics in Kharkiv, the country’s second-largest city, which Russian forces have been assailingamid their invasionthat began more than two months ago.
Paramedics Alexandra Rudkovskaya and Vladimir Venzel began a 24-hour shift as the CNN team trailed them on their way to a residential building, where they had been told one person was injured.
But once Ward arrived at the building with the paramedics, another attack began.

The network announced the decision in a statement on Saturday, noting “additional information has come to light” while evaluating the journalist’s involvement in the defense of his brother Andrew Cuomo, whoresigned as governor of New Yorkin August following allegations of sexual misconduct.
“Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this weekend pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother’s defense,” said the statement.

The episode of CNN’sParts UnknownthatAnthony Bourdainwas filming in the Alsace region of France when he died will not air.
“From the completed footage, the producers were able to create five location episodes (including Kenya, Asturias, Indonesia, and Far West Texas) plus two specials,” the statement continued. “Alsace was not included.”
The France episode ofParts Unknownwas slated to show Ripert guiding Bourdainto restaurants, vineyards and artisans near the French-German border.
