A Good Samaritan and emergency responders saved the life of an elderly man who mistakenly drove off a boat ramp in Washington state.
The incident occurred in Lake Stevens around 8:10 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, saidSnohomish Regional Fire & Rescuein a news release.

An elderly woman was successfully rescued from a collapsed building after being trapped under the rubble for 24 hours.
“She was found inside the building, in the area of the stairs, where we imagined she was,” Bari firefighter commander Rosa D’Eliseo said. “She was taking the stairs to get out. She evidently sensed the danger and was running away.”

A married Indiana couple and their two dogs died in a single-engine plane crash Sunday morning in western Michigan, authorities said.
Michigan State Police (MSP)confirmed in a post on X(formerly known as Twitter) that a 43-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man were killed when their fixed-wing aircraft crashed after taking off from the Mason County Airport in Ludington, which is located about 100 miles north of Grand Rapids.
