TheUnited States Supreme Courtwill allowDonald Trumpto appear on Colorado’s 2024 presidential primary ballot, reversing a lower court’s earlier decision to disqualify him from the race.
The U.S. Supreme Court overruled the Colorado Supreme Court in a9-0 decisionon Monday, rejecting its assertion that Trump should be barred from the Republican primary election based on Section 3 ofthe U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment, which disqualifies individuals who have “previously sworn an oath to support the Constitution” and have “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” from holding office.

The Justice Department’sfinal reportabout the election subversion case againstDonald Trumpwas released on Tuesday, Jan. 14, revealing new details about how the 45th president allegedly tried clinging to power after losing reelection in 2020.
“Indeed, but for Mr. Trump’s election and imminent return to the Presidency, the Office assessed that the admissible evidence was sufficient to obtain and sustain a conviction at trial," the report stated.
