A New York dog has found his way back home after swimming across the Hudson River.
The Edgewater Fire Department reports that a 6-month-old mixed breed dog named Bearwas foundunder a pier at Independence Harbor early on Tuesday morning after a call came in about a dod barking in the water.

The dog’s owner, Ellen Wolpin, expressed toThe New York Postthat her family had just purchased Bear last week for their 20-year-old son Zack who has special needs, and were in the process of buying him a harness when he escaped and ran down the Upper East Side on 86th Street and jumped in the water near 110th Street.

A South Carolina dog was rescued after sneaking into a surprising space!
According to aFacebook postfrom the Sumter Police Department — which worked with the Sumter Fire Department to rescue the pet — Spike ended up in a house dryer vent on Nov. 30.
Members of the fire and police departments arrived at the scene to retrieve the dog from the tight spot.

“They contacted us and were like, ‘We have this super friendly girl who’s super-duper pregnant, and she needs out of the shelter ASAP,'” Rachel, the founder of Twenty Paws Rescue, tells PEOPLE.

It’s been an eventful few days forConnie the Container Dog!
A team of marine inspectors from the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston rescued the adorable canine from a shipping container in the Port of Houston on Jan. 31. It is believed that the dog was trapped inside for at least a week, perthe U.S. Coast Guard Heartland.
The organization said Connie was “tired, hungry, and very happy to see her rescuers” after being found and focused on finding her a new home.

Residents at New Legacy Apartments “never” heard Angela Murray’s dog make noise. Then, one night, he wouldn’t stop barking.
