An abandoned dog is safe after reportedly being thrown from a New York City bridge into the Harlem River.
The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) shared in a TuesdayInstagrampost that firefighters responded to a report that day about “a dog that was thrown off a bridge into the Harlem River and was in distress.”
Firefighters aboard the FDNY boat Marine 4 responded to the call and found a Good Samaritan holding onto a large dog from the shore attempting to keep the pet afloat.

A 4-year-old dog now-named Daisy has found her forever home after surviving a “cruel” incident earlier this week.
Orange County Animal Services in Florida shared an alert via itsFacebook pageon Thursday, stating that the day before authorities were called in after “someone had tossed a plastic tote over a bridge from a moving vehicle.”
“We will never understand why people do these cruel things to animals, but we feel fortunate that so many residents see something and say something,” it said.

A scenic walk in Michigan almost turned deadly for a 3-year-old dog after she fell off a 60-foot cliff.
Dancer was enjoying a scenic stroll with her Minnesota-based family atPictured Rocks National Lakeshoreon Wednesday evening when she got free of her leash, the National Park Service (NPS) said ina news releaseon Thursday. She proceeded to fall 60 feet from a cliff near Minors Castle and onto a ledge below.

A California dog is recovering after facing a gnarly tumble down a waterfall while on a hike with his owner.
Per the post, the owner informed the sheriff’s office that his pup was still alive at the bottom — and that he was attempting to find a way down to help him.
