South Korea has passed a law banning the sale of dog meat.
The bill was passed on Tuesday, and it will prevent the breeding, farming and selling of dogs for their meat, which has been in practice in the country for centuries.
According toBBC News, the legislation will go into effect in 2027. Under the new law, consumption of dog meat will not be criminalized.

On Feb. 28, the 39-year-old woman detailed her family drama on Reddit’s“Am I the A——” forum, explaining why she forked over the money for her belovedpet’s medical needs but not for her 26-year-old brother.
“My whole family is arguing about it now,” the woman wrote.

A dog mom knew just how to lift her “heartbroken” pooch’s spirits after they were pining to use the family’s shuttered backyard pool during the wintertime.
The words, “So we decided to surprise him…" then flashed up on the screen as Budzyn went outside in the snow to tell Tucker it was his “lucky day” and ask him if he wants to go swimming.

A pet parent in China claims that her golden retriever grabbed a scratch-off lottery ticket that turned out to be a winner, according toUnited Press Internationaland Singapore outletAsiaOne.
After following her pet into the store, Lin discovered that the canine had sunk its teeth into a scratch-off lottery ticket, UPI and AsiaOne reported.

In a now-viral video shared toTikToklast Thursday, Ellie Buckler detailed her pup Baxter’s last day.
In the emotional clip to the tune of “Stuff We Did” fromUp, Buckler is seen cuddling the Shar Pei. “Making my boys [sic] last day the best I can ❤️,” she wrote. “So many hugs and kisses.”
Later in the day, Buckler fed her dog a special treat: fast food. “Last McDonald’s breakfast,” she wrote, showing a scene of Baxter munching on a sandwich.
