Union County Sheriff’s Department officers found Andrea Alarcon and her husband Ruben Alarcon, 51, and their two daughters in their Union. Leonard, who had only been with the force for two months, had arrested the woman just minutes prior to the crash, according to a news release from the Tennessee Police Benevolent Association. The deputy’s car “was located upside down in the Tennessee River” the following day, the TPBA said.

He will be given seven months credit for time served, making his sentence 245 months, or a little more than 20 years,KARE reports. Prosecutors had asked for 25 years, while Chauvin’s defense attorneys had asked for 20 years.
