The actor, 53, was named an honorary officer of the United Kingdom’s Royal Navy Thursday, the organization announced in anews release. With his new appointment, Craig is following in the footsteps of Bond, who is a Royal Navy commander in the popular film franchise.
Craig said in a statement included in Thursday’s news release, “I am truly privileged and honored to be appointed the rank of Honorary Commander in the senior service.

In Los Angeles Wednesday night, the 53-year-oldNo Time to Dieactor gave a “short and sweet” speech at the unveiling of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It’s the end of an era.
Daniel Craig, who has played James Bond in the popular franchise since 2005, has confirmed his time as 007 is coming to an end.
During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Friday, the actor confirmed that he was “done” playing the famed spy. “Are you done with Bond,” asked hostStephen Colbert, to which Craig, 51, replied, “Yes.”
“It’s done,” he added.

The 53-year-old actor could potentially earn more than $100 million to reprise his role as Detective. Benoit Blanc inRian Johnson’s upcoming twoKnives Outsequels for Netflix, according to sources who spoke withThe Hollywood Reporter.
Johnson, who wrote and directed the 2019 hit film, could also be scoring $100 million from the deal, the outlet reported.
