The formerCBS Evening Newsanchor, 89, received theCOVID-19vaccine on Tuesday,tweetinga photo of himself sitting next to the nurse who administered the shot.
“I got the vaccine today. Thank you science. Thank you to all who have been working on the front lines,” he wrote.
The event brought back a flood of emotions for the legendary journalist, who recalled when the polio vaccination was rolled out.

Dan Reeves, who spent decades in the NFL as a running back and a coach,has died"due to complications from a long illness," according to his family. He was 77.
“His legacy will continue through his many friends, players and fans as well as the rest of the NFL community,” they added.
Falcons owner and chairman Arthur M. Blankfondly rememberedReeves' impact on Atlanta, where he coached from 1997 to 2003.

TheImagine Dragonsfrontman and his wife Aja Volkman welcomed their first son together on Tuesday, Oct. 1, Reynoldsannounced the same dayon Instagram.
“The name Valentine means ‘strong.’ As today marks the 2nd anniversary of our most tragic day in Vegas, it now also represents the day that we celebrate the birth of new life. We are truly feeling #vegasstrong today,” wrote Reynolds, a Las Vegas, Nevada, native.
