Danielle Brooks Spent Her Labor Day Weekend in Feathers and Rhinestones

For most, Labor Day weekend means three long, luxurious days to soak in those last moments of summer, sip on some rosé at a backyard barbecue, and bust out your finest white linens for their last hurrah until Memorial Day. But for others, the national holiday is best spent shimmying through the New York streets at the West Indian Day Carnival parade decked out in head to toe feathers and rhinestones, as Danielle Brooks so perfectly illustrated in her latest Instagram post.

In a series of shots she posted to her account on Monday, Danielle showed off a costume for the big day that could put all thoseVictoria’s Secret Angel runwaygetups to shame. For those who have never been lucky enough to witness the fantastic spectacle that is West Indian Day, the festivities are known for their over the top ensembles complete with huge, technicolor feather headdresses and elaborately beaded and rhinestoned bikinis and bodysuits. And theOrange is the New Blackactress’s costume certainly did not disappoint.
