A couple in China was executed Wednesday after they were convicted of throwing two toddlers out of the window of a high-rise apartment, according to multiple reports.
China’s supreme courts approved the death sentences of Zhang Bo, the father of the two children, and Ye Chengchen, a woman with whom he began an affair, according to reports fromShine,CNNandChina Daily.
The outlets reported that Zhang had started the affair with Ye, initially hiding that he was married with kids. He eventually divorced his wife, but Ye encouraged Zhang to kill his children so they could start a new family, China Daily reported.

Shine reported that authorities have said they couple had been planning the killings for nine months.
They were initially sentenced to death in local court in 2021.
