He had been convicted last month of fatally stabbing his girlfriend, and is considered “extremely dangerous," according to theChester County District Attorney’s office.
On Saturday night, the 34-year-old allegedly stole a vehicle, described to be a white van, less than a mile from where authorities were maintaining their search parameter, Bivens said.
The same night, he sought out two of his past associates, both of whom were not home when he showed up to their residence, Bivens said.
When he “attempted contact” the first time, he was identified through the video doorbell where he “inquired about meeting with that individual”, who had been out for dinner. When the person returned and saw Cavalcante in the video, he notified authorities, according to Bivens.
Less than 30 minutes after his initial visit, he showed up at the home of another “old work associate”, who was not present but a female resident identified him and called a friend, who then notified authorities, according to Bivens.
“He is absolutely looking for support, he needs that support and he doesn’t have it,” Bivens added.

Bivens further stated that Cavalcante was likely using a white vehicle during the sighting at the second associate’s place.
He also clarified that both the people that Cavalcantereached out to are former associates and there are no indications that they still have a relationship with him.
“We are obviously very concerned that Cavalcante has or will attempt to steal another vehicle to facilitate his escape,” Bivens added.
Last week, Cavalcante’s mother reportedly recorded a message urging him to turn himself in, according to apress conference.
There is currently a $20,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest, Bivens said. The amount has beendoubledfrom an initial reward of $10,000 that was offered last week.
