Look out!
According toCBS Sports, the tooth mascot was running alongside a giant toothbrush and tube of toothpaste for the Tooth Trot, a sponsored race that was conducted before the sixth inning.
“Murph, WATCH OUT!,” the Rockies’ Twitter account wrote on Wednesday.
Luckily, the near-collision didn’t seem to impact Murphy’s playing skills — the Rockies beat the Nationals 9 points to 5. The giant tooth wasn’t so lucky, as the tube of toothpaste appeared to take home the glory in the Tooth Trot race.
According to the Rockies’Twitter account, Wednesday was Murphy’s first game back following an injury to his left index finger.
“I was startled,” Murphy said about the incident, according to theDenver Post. “I was in a zone right there, trying to get ready to play defense. I should pay attention better … Keep your head on a swivel.”
