Clark Gable’s grandson’s cause of death has been revealed.
Clark James Gable, who was found dead at 30 on Feb. 22, died of an accidental fentanyl overdose, according to multiple reports.
According to a spokesperson for the Dallas County Southwestern Institute of Forensic Science, Gable died from “the combined effects of fentanyl, oxycodone and alprazolam,” reported theNew York Daily News.
“The manner of death is an accident,” added the spokesperson.
TMZwent on to report his time of death is listed as 9:11 a.m.
Fentanyl is the same opiate that was the cause ofMac Miller’saccidental overdosein September 2017, as well asTom Petty’s death on Oct. 2, 2017, andPrince’sdeathon April 21, 2016. The extremely powerful, synthetic opiate is80 times as potent as morphineand hundreds of times more potent than heroin.
The Dallas County Southwestern Institute of Forensic Science did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
“He passed this morning. I will always be next to you my beautiful son. Mom,” she added.
His father is John Gable II, the son of actress Kay Williams and the Hollywood icon who is best known for his role as Rhett Butler in the 1939 epic dramaGone with the Wind, who died in 1960 from an arterial blood clot after suffering a heart attack.
TheCheatershost frequently shared photos of his famous grandfather on Instagram.
In July, he shared the icon’s army photo, writing, “Thinking about my grandfather Maj. Clark Gable (US Army Air Force 1942-1944) before #independenceday #july4th#clarkgable #usa.”
